(Edition 2/10) "Urban Insomnia 1998" Artistic assemblage created using recovered original vintage objects alongside elements altered or reinterpreted by the artist, preserved within a transparent acrylic display case.

● This piece belongs a "DKT Archive Object" project dedicated to preserving fragments of collective memory through everyday objects transformed into archival artifacts. Each piece is assembled by hand and contains a unique combination of original materials sourced from flea markets, antique fairs, and second-hand markets, together with modified or adapted elements intended to visually reconstruct the cultural spirit of a specific era. The piece includes a hidden QR code on the reverse side, providing access to a digital Certificate of Authenticity (COA) as well as additional information about the concept and origin of the piece.

● Concept: Inside the display case, two iconic soft drink cans, a network cable, a Windows 98 sticker, fragments of Frank Miller’s Sin City, electronic components and various graphic remnants coexist as if they had been recovered from an archaeological excavation dedicated to the early years of connected culture.

The Red Bull and Pepsi Max cans act as silent protagonists within the composition. Beyond their role as consumer products, they function as symbols of energy, speed, overstimulation and nocturnal culture. The network cable winding through the interior physically connects all the elements, becoming a metaphor for a generation beginning to link its identity to technology, information and permanent connectivity.

Some of the incorporated elements are original objects recovered from the period they reference, while others have been altered, adapted or reinterpreted by the artist in order to visually condense the habits, obsessions and symbols associated with the late 1990s. Rather than representing the past literally, the piece aims to capture the emotional atmosphere of those long nights illuminated by CRT screens, dial-up connections, teenage bedrooms and the first shared digital spaces.

"Urban Insomnia 1998" functions as a miniature museum of the digital transition. An emotional archive dedicated to cybercafés, late night connections, energy drinks, comics, teenage bedrooms and that collective feeling of stepping into a future whose shape we could not yet imagine.
