● Concept

Pocket Summer 1997 explores the idea that an entire era can be contained within a small collection of seemingly insignificant objects.

Inside the display case, an iconic 7UP Fido Dido can, a PlayStation AV cable, a hand-written CD labeled Summer Mix, an 8-ball keychain, manga comic fragments and various graphic elements coexist as if they had been recovered from an archaeological excavation dedicated to late 1990s youth culture.

Pocket Summer 1997 functions as a miniature museum of the teenage summer. An emotional archive dedicated to vacation mixtapes, afternoons spent gaming, comics shared among friends, soft drinks consumed on the street, objects stored in backpacks and bedroom drawers, and all those ordinary rituals that quietly helped define an entire generation.
